Create a Fisheye Lens in Photoshop


Step 1

Create new document 700px x 700px 72dpi.

Step 2

Fill background layer with a black/white gradient. 80 degree angle

Note: If you do not know how to apply a gradient please check out this tutorial

Step 3

Create new layer and name it Main_circle. Select the rounded rectangle tool. Now create a circle, Color #000, black, ( Does not have to be excact )

Step 4

Right click on Main_circle layer and select blending options then look down and select stroke. Apply the settings below to layer.

Notice I have a gradient selected, While still in the stroke option panel select the fill type drop down menu and select Gradient

Now click on the gradient bar

Left color: #555353, Right color:#dbdbdb

Step 5

Create a new layer and name it Inside_circle. Now select the rounded rectangle tool and create another circle inside the main circle layer

Right click on the Inside_circle layer and select blending options. Then select the gradient overlay

Now click on gradient. Color Left:#000( black ), Color Right:#181616( Dark grey );
Click on Gradient

Note: It might be kinda hard to see but you should have something like this below

Create a new layer name it Inner_circle. Now select the rounded rectangle tool and create another circle inside the Inside_circle layer

Right click on the Inner_circle layer and select Bevel and Emboss. Copy settings below

Now select the stroke option. Copy settings below. Color:#565454

Step 9

Create a new layer name it Small_circle. Now select the rounded rectangle tool and create another circle inside the Inner_circle

Right click on the Small_circle layer and select blending options>>Stroke. Copy settings below, Color:#565454

Step 11

Ok so we’re almost finish. Go to the Main_circle Layer and right click>>Duplicate layer and drag layer to top. Name it lens_cover.

Now select gradient overlay. Copy setting below

Then click on Gradient. Left Color:#131313 ( Dark Purple/black ), Right Color:#bfbfbf ( light grey )

Finally select the Stroke options. Copy settings below

Then click on Gradient. Left Color:#555353 ( mid gray ), Right Color:#dbdbdb ( light grey )

Step 13

Duplicate the lens cover layer. Now go to Filter>>Render>>Lens flare
Create new document

Copy current setting.( Try to get flare like the example shown in the image shown below. Does not have to be exact )

Step 14

Next we will add a reflection to our image. Create a new group and name it Lens.

After you have successfully created a new group drag all layers into the Lens folder.

Right click on the lens group and duplicate it. After you have a copy of the lense group right click on the second group copy and select Merge Group.

Step 15

For our final step we will drag the lens copy layer down until you see a reflection. THEN YOUR”RE DONE!
